The Monastery garden is a highlight. When you arrive at The Monastery you'll be greeted by a driveway lined with London plane trees, opening out to The Monastery set amongst 10 acres of garden alongside the Waikato River.

Sunny alcoves separated by manicured hedges provide space for relaxation and reflection. The garden incorporates English form, with cottage style gardens, open spaces and a large organic vegetable garden and orchard.

A must-do during your stay at The Monastery is a tour with our informative and friendly gardeners. Steve and Shona know this manicured garden better than anyone and are able to provide plenty of information about the trees, and plants as well as gardening advice for you to take home.
